S-10 Muffler Choices

The 4.3 S-10 regular cab is getting a new muffler for better sound (not overpowering) and power.  Thoughts on the Fowmaster Delta Flow 40, Delta Flow 50, and Magnaflow?  Thanks!

I found some good .wav files on s10forum.com.  The muffler shop I visited, wanted about $360 for a catback FM50 setup with dual pipes or about $100 less for single with no-name muffler.  The guy was pretty non-committal about what was the best setup.

I called an exhaust guy at a nearby speed shop and he strongly recommended a FM40 Delta Flow for the S-10.  He said the 50 sounds flat on the 4.3 while a 40 will sound just right - and not ricey.  We'll see after the 4th when it goes on.  He quoted $180 for a catback setup with dual pipes.

A Flowmaster 40 delta flow went on the S-10 today - catback with 2.5 inch pipes and a single 3.5 inch stainless angle cut tip.  The tip is oriented so the angle of the opening is parallel with the body side.  It looks & sounds suhweeeet!  Total cost with tax, etc. was $200.  Tony at Pro Street Auto in Fowlerville, MI did a great job.

I have to agree with you Flowmaster owners, it sounds better than the Gibson on my Av.  I'll take the S-10 to work on Monday and see how I like it after 2.5 hours on the freeway.

BTW, mileage before any mods:  22.5.  I'll drive with just the catback for a few weeks and then add upgraded induction and see what happens.
