Nextel in Florida

Welp here's the debate.

I get a free phone/nextel from work.

I can also BUY my own personal nextel. I can get a I730 (bad ass phone) for a price of $120, VS @299 at the local Nextel with a company discount. I also get discounts on Nextel Plans.

I am currently with Alltel, their coverage/service is EXCELLENT. I've only had 2-3 dropped calls in over 5 years with them. My problem is that their phones SUCK big time compared to Nextel.

Since I have a free nextel from work, I was thinking of disconnecting my Alltel for my own personal line, as well as my wife's line. As a replacement, I would get her a I730, and one for myself. I would just have my company pay the airtime/walkie talkie plan for my I730, and I would pay for my wife's I730. Doing this I of course would turn in the original I1000plus company phone to them.

Basically I would suppy the phone & they pay the bill since it's 99% for work. This would be no problem

How is the coverage with the new nextel's? My I1000plus is old and I'm sure has very old firmware. It drops calls a lot and looses signal/service on and off all day long on the job site.

Any comments is appreciated!

I can't really comment on your position because I don't live in Florida.I do use a Nextel at work and I also have a Sprint phone for personal use and let's just say that I won't be trading my Sprint for Nextel anytime soon because Nextel's coverage areas around here are horrible.
