WELCOME, N.C. -- Johnny Sauter's incomplete NASCAR Nextel Cup season lost another race Tuesday when Dave Blaney was named to drive Richard Childress Racing's No. 30 AOL Chevrolet in this weekend's Pocono 500.

Childress put Blaney in the No. 30 Monte Carlo due to a conflict with Sauter's NASCAR Busch Series program with Brewco Motorsports, which has him scheduled to practice Friday afternoon, qualify Friday evening and race Brewco's No. 27 Kleenex Pontiac Saturday night in the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway.

"There were conflicts with Johnny's schedules in trying to run both the Busch and Cup series, so we decided it would be best to put Dave in the car for Pocono," Childress said.

Last weekend, RCR announced West Coast stock car veteran Jim Inglebright would drive the AOL car at Infineon Raceway later this month when Sauter has a conflict with a night Busch Series race at The Milwaukee Mile.

Blaney is the 1995 World of Outlaws Sprint Car champion. In eight Nextel Cup Series starts at Pocono Raceway, he's earned two top-10 and four top-20 finishes, including a ninth place finish in last July's Pennsylvania 500.

Blaney has made only seven Nextel Cup starts this season due to lack of sponsorship for his program at Bill Davis Racing, but he's qualified and finished well in most of his outings and is 38th in the Nextel Cup standings.

From Jayski's---The early story line here [Pocono] this weekend centers on Richard Childress, who may be shopping for a new driver. Childress is doing nothing to dispel speculation that Johnny Sauter may be replaced. Dave Blaney will have Sauter's ride here for qualifying this afternoon for Sunday's Pocono 500; Jim Inglebright will have the Childress ride at Sears Point. Childress hasn't said who will be in the car next week at Michigan. Sauter hasn't said much about the situation.

Why do they keep teasing me with this stuff? Please let it be true.
