WHAT is a Z72???

I saw a couple of these at a dealership back in 1998, i think, and just remebered about it... I remember a guy telling me it has a 502 in it but he also claim he had a 502 in a c5 vette with like a 6.xx rear end and he wrecked it at 200+mph on I-10, so he was full of it...

 

Anyone now??

 

It had a Z72 decal on the bed instead of Z71....

Never heard of a Z72. Theres a ZR2:)

 

There is a 572 crate motor that GM calls the ZZ572.

 

They also have a ZZ502.

 

Then theres a Z06 Vette.

 

And, John Lingenfelter makes a 427 Twin Turbo C5 Vette, that is capable of 240+ MPH.

 

Sounds like he combined a lot of GMs best stuff for wishful thinking:)

I found this info doing a search:

 

It is a factory package for 2x4 and includes the following: ZQ8 factory suspension, bug deflector w/ Z72 decal, high back seats w/ Z72 embroidered, Z72 ON ROAD decal on each sportside fender.

 

From what I could find the ZQ8 option was a ride enhancement suspension upgrade.
