Buying A New Truck

I found a 2004 Silverado with a 5 speed and 4.8L v8. Its a silver LS and thats pretty much it, no posi no G80. Looks like after taxes and all that I would be spending around 367 a month on it. Only a little more than my dodge and thats at a s**tty interest rate. But before the rebates around $23500 I plan on driving it pretty hard and lowering it a bit. Does this sound like a good deal. Or Should I just find one with the G80 and expect it to just go out after a while of beating?

Thanks for your input. These trucks just drive sooo much better than a Ram.

I would get it.

I've never seen a 1/2 ton V8 with a stick. I thought you couldn't even get it anymore?

Is this a regular cab or extended?

I was asking about a extended cab and they said only if you get a work truck.

Regular cab must be different.

You could get a posi put in. But your not going to find to many manual tranny trucks.

Its a regular cab! Fleetside, there was a red stepside but its got the g80 and I think I should stay away from one of those! Theres only about 5 of them within 300 miles of evansville, IN.

Thanks

Its 2wd and I'd prefer to at least have limitied slip and would like to have a stepside. But I would still be happy with this truck I beleive!

$23,500 sounds like a lot for a 2wd! I could of gotten a 4wd regular cab 5.3 auto LS Z71 for like $25xxx.

How do you figure... A 1500 reg cab, 2wd, LS sticker starts at $25k.

My 04, RCSB, 5.3 auto, W/T, with power windows, power mirrors, CD player, towing package, HD suspension, G80... sticker was $23,800. I got it out the door for $17,900 incuding tax, title and license.

Hogie, does the red stepside with the G80 have a stick... I suggest you buy what you really want... and I don't think you would have any issues with the G80

Sounds like too much. I bought a 2004 ECSB 4x4 with a 5.3 V8, G80 locker, HD Suspension for 24 + taxes and tags.

I got my 8' bed 5.3 with posi automatic, extended, towing hitch, for 19,500.00 and that is in California with our CA smog etc...

The manual is available, it is special order and should reduce the cost of the truck about 1500.00 also if it doesnt have carpet that is like 500.00 off.

I think you may want to pass on this "deal." Dont settle when buying a new vehicle. Get EXACTLY the truck you want, the color, engine, and accessories. This will ensure your happiness with the truck 4 years from today.

Thank for all your help. I may just have to hold out a little longer! Of course everyone acts like if I don't bu y now I will lose my rebates. I guess we'll see where that goes.
