rear noise

I hear a noise in the rear just as I accelerate. Sounds almost like someone is honking a horn in the distance. Kinda freaks me out. d**n near had a wreck because I thought someone was about to hit me. Don't know if it's suspension or something else. Only 37K on the truck. Anyone else had this?

It is VERY common. It is the interface between your output shaft in your transfer case and your driveshaft splines.

 

Remove the driveshaft, with a brush on white lithium or similar "paint" the driveshaft inside splines, and coat the outside of the shaft as well (some noise can be made by the output shaft seal.)

 

You can put a pretty good coat of grease in there, just don't fill the whole thing up!
