On a 2004 Silverado withot a full DIC how do you remove the "Change Oil Now" signal which comes up upon start-up. Pushing the tripmeter reset does not work!

Do you have an owners manual ? Check it out but i believe its ign. on engine not running & quickly depress throttle 3 times and light will blink and go out. Aways check out your owners manual never know what you might learn. If you dont have one get one. :D

A reset button costs money and the throttle is standard across all GM vehicles. :D

No, I think the real reason is that it tends to influence some owners to the dealer for service and reset.

No, it could be like setting the clock in my wife Cherokee. You need a pen or a pointed object to push button to set time so there are no "accidents"

Actually there is a reset button with the full DIC. The lower right button that resembles a return key arrow should be held for 2 seconds with the oil life percentage displayed will reset the monitor.

The DIC on our STS has an actual reset button for oil/trans life, fuel economy, avg speed, etc. You just hold it for 2 sec and there it goes. I do wish my '01 had a DIC (get your minds out of the gutter!!!) :D:thumbs::thumbs:

yeah same here my 02 is DIC less but I guess that is a good thing since It acts likes a woman, takes most of my money and you have to tum her on before she will take you anywhere, :D
