This weeked my family drove down to Alabama to see my wife's uncle, aunt and cousins. On the way down on Thurs. night, a white C6 pulled up next to us at the KY/Tenn I-65 rest area, outside BG, KY. It was an absolute thing of beauty. This car flows better than any other Vette I've seen. You can definately tell it isn't as long as the C5. The headlights were the first thing to catch my eye. The taillights also look different than the current lights. All the pics out on the net can't do this car justice until you see one in person. I sort of liked the C6 from the pics I've seen so far, but seeing it in person has made me drool over it! I must say, we waited for it to pull out of the lot because I wanted to hear what it sounded like. As it was driving by us it was extremely quiet, but as soon as he started to speed up and get into traffic, it was a sound of beauty. Nothing like an AMERICAN V8! Then today coming back, right outside of Bowling Green, KY, another Yellow C6 going down the interstate. All I can say, I can't wait til I get out of Dental School, it's going to be very high on my list of things to get! I didn't think the new C6 was supposed to be on dealer lots until later? Or are they already out? I'll get the pics up tomorrow! Chris

Thanks for the pics :banghead: , the Vette looks awesome. A buddy of mine talked to a local dealer and the dealer said that they weren't getting any new C6's until late August.

Considering you were near the assembly plant, I might hazard a guess that these were pre-production test cars. Just testing the assembly line, make sure all is in order before going into full production...

Yeah, I figured that was what it was. I just hope GM puts out a Z06 worth waiting for. With all the suspense about what engine (427 like in C5R, SC'ed 6.0, 6.4, etc.) and how much hp it'll have. Can't wait, to see what it will look like. But this "base" Corvette was really an eye catcher. I knew I hadn't seen a front end/light combo on a car like that before when it was driving up towards me at night. When I realized it was a C6, I felt like a little kid wanting nothing but a Corvette again. Chris

The base model is going for $44 whilst the open top is $50 ish. Not bad for a top quality sports/muscle car. I wonder what performance kits Callaway is going to offer for them.

I'm starting to see them regularly on I-96 between Lansing and Detroit. Yesterday afternoon a red one and a black one headed west. Today a yellow vert headed west.

Hi to my fellow corvetteforum visitors! :D

Went to Corvettes at Carlisle here in PA, many new C6's were on display from GM. We got to sit in them and play with all the cool stuff. The electronic doors are very cool, along with the in dash DVD nav. LS2 is nice too  . They also had the new Caddy STS sedan there, another nice one :flag: . I didnt really like the new C6 in the pictures, but it looks very good in person I think, with some 1960s stylin on it. I think it will be a much better Vette over the old ones both in performance and comfort.

    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed, regardless of whether they are in warranty or not, or in the hands of the original owner or not. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
