Engine swap

Has anyone done a gas to diesel engine swap in california and got the Bureau of Automotive Repair to sign off the vehicle as smog exempted. They list a diesel to gas swap and say it must have all emission that came on that vehicle, but nothing about gas to diesel. I have talked to three different people at BAR and have gotten three different answers, yes you can, no you can't, maybee?

It isn't that hard to find used GM Diesel pickups, the swap from gas to Diesel isn't easy. I would just get a truck with a Diesel, I know of 3 6.5TD for sale right now in our town of 65,000 so they are out there.
