Adjustable headrests

I drove a Yukon that had ajustable headrests that not only adjust up and down, but also fore and aft (tilting effect). Is this only offered on the Denali? I wish they came on my Tahoe LT and was also wondering where I could get a set.

thanks.

My friend's 03 Yukon SLT has them, so I would think they are available on Tahoes after 03.

You would have to replace the entire seat, along with upgrading the wiring and switches to the memory seats.

Yeah, Shaners you are right. I was thinking about the power ones. The ones like yours are a direct replacement.

Maybe he is talking about the power ones... I dunno??? :jester:

I'm talking about the manual racheting ones. '04 Tahoe LT's (leather) don't come with them. Maybe I could pick up a pair and swap out the ones I have?

Got 'em on the '01 Yuk XL. Vinyl covered even with 1SD pack.

far as i know, only the 03-04 escalade (all caddie trucks and suv), denali, and h2 came with the manual ratcheting headrest. it wasn't even an option on my 03 yukon. if you want one, look on ebay. i bought one from ebay that came out of h2 and fits and works perfectly. not bad for h2 leather headrest for around $50.

You mean these? I bought them on ebay these ones are Hummer H2 tilting headrests. I had mine done up with my upholstery, I have 1 extra set left. If you are interested in them I can let them go for 100$ for the pair, and I will include shipping.

The ones I have are greyish leather.

We just got a truck in that has the ratcheting headrests.

It is a 2002 GMC SLT, and I think this is the key here, 8-way power seats with the memory functions.

That has been a mystery to me also. I owned a 99 Silverado LT equiped with the tilting headrest from the factory(listed in the options list). I now own a 2003 GMC SLT loaded with same options. My headrests do not tilt. I asked the dealer about this option and they all had the same answers.

Most 99 Sierra-Silverado SLT-LT packages included them(including Tahoes and Yukons). Since then, newer model years are showing up with them sporadically and there is not an option code to order them.

I am as confused as you are. I miss the tilting option that my older truck had. It may be a hidden option. In the good old days of 99 the locking spare tire was standard and now its an option. I also learned that one the hard way.
