keyless entry

I an getting ready to trade my 01 in for a new truck . I was thinking of keeping one of the keyless entry transmitter and using it for my wifes 99 truck. Will this work? Can I reprogram the transmitter to work for her truck?Does any one how I would go about doing this ? No since in giving the stealer anything more than I have to .

Just check the part numbers on the back of the key fobs. Same? Different?

I'm pretty sure that if they're the same transmitter, it can be programmed to work with your wife's ride.

If here 99 is the new body style, then yes.

Do a search on here, should be easy to find the procedure.

hey my mom has a new monte carlo. can i just reprogram her remote to be used on my tuck? i have power locks/windows.

Does your truck have the factory keyless entry module installed.

uhhh. i don't know if it does. it has power windows and locks. i tryed to program one of the remotes, it goes into programing mode but when i hold down the two buttons on the remote it doesn't do anything.
