automatic/manual tranny swap

Hey guys and gals.

Just wondering whats all involved in changing and automatic transmission to a manual?

I have and '79 GMC C35 dually with 7.4 L 454 with automatic trans right now.

Can someone at least steer me in the right direction?

On an older truck, it would be quite easy assuming you have access to a parts truck with manual trans provisions, all the brackets or mounting points for the clutch pedal should be under the dash in older trucks.
