Has anyone seen one of these?

I'm trying to aquire one, but while waiting for paper work to clear up I've been trying to find information on it, can't seem to find any. I can find 2500HD, 3500, and 3500HD CC but no standard cab 3500HDs.

What I know is (truck is parked somewhere I can't see it):

2000 Chevy 3500HD DRW

Vortex 7.4/auto

Old body style with the taller cab. The cab look like it has about a 3" extention at the bottom.

I'm told the truck is a 4x4, solid front axle, shifter on the floor and has lock out hubs.

The truck also had a pickup dually bed.

19.5 (guessing but larger than light duty) rims

I'm told this is the way the truck was bought off a dealer lot, no expense spared.

I've also been told by someone that use to sell trucks that the 4x4 on this model was a $10k option? Is this right? Is that why I can't find a picture of one? much less any info on one. Are they that rare? What axle is under the front? Any guess on gears?

Yes,they do exist but they are conversions, but right now for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the company that does them,I know a company by the name of "Quigley" does 4X4 van coversions because we've sold a few G-Vans that were converted over to four wheel drive and I know that option was around $10k.

If I remember what the name was of that company I'll let you know.but maybe if you go through the paperwork in the glovebox when you see the truck (if there is any!) you will find more info.

Yep, they are conversions. I was trying to get one a few years back. It was a 14K option. It turned out better and cheaper to get a F550 4x4 with a Powerstroke.

Thank you for the replies.

For the price I can't pass it up, even if I end up parting it out, but hoping that it will make a nice tow rig.

I know you can get a regular cab 3500HD, but were 3500HDs available in a Crew Cab configuration in 2000. As far as the 4x4 conversions, they were approx 10K for the option, and typically inculded a Dana 80 front axle. I'd love to find a frame for a crew cab 3500hd, with the right length for an 8ft bed.
