Disc brakes on 88-98 4x4

I know it has been discussed here before, but not sure what the outcome was.

I am about to swap in a G80 rear into my 99 Tahoe and take out the open diff one. I have all the brake parts off of a 2001 rear-end. The flange bolt pattern on the tube looks the same. Looks like the spacing on the flange may be different. May require a spacer.

Has anyone done this conversion? I know I can make the brake lines and park brake cable work fine, just wondering about the spacing on the flange.

 

Also should I change the proportioning somehow to the rear. I know it would provide better braking if the rear was set a little firmer than with the drum, but it would still work right with the stock proportion, right?
