Torsion Bars

Has anyone ever installed either K2500/3500 torsion bars on a K1500 truck? Is there any difference? I recently installed a winch on my 98 K1500, and the front end squatted about an inch. I would like an alternative to cranking the bars. Any Ideas?

This case right here is EXACTLY why Torsion bars can be cranked.

When people say "cranking is a bad idea" it is part true. You give more stress on the parts and wear out faster because of worse angles and such.

The Real reason they are ajustable is for this purpose.

Adding weight to the front and needing to level it back up. It was never ment to be dont to gain height IMO. (but can be done, done it myself)

Cranking the Torsion bars to get the truck back up to where it was before all the added weight will NOT hurt a thing. Basically you are putting more tension on them to get everything BACK to where it was before all the added weight.

so crank away IMO.

But to answer your question, yes you could put a higher rated torsion bar in there to prevent some of the sagging
