I picked it up last Thursday, 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 450. I was really sold on this model since they have Independent Rear Suspension now... it rides great!

Some of the stuff about it:

-2,500 Warn Winch w/Roller Fairlead

-High/Low Range with Differential Lock

-LCD Speedometer/Trip/Hourmeter

-Front and Rear Disk Brakes

-Liquid Cooled

I'll be adding some front and rear CV Boot Guards soon, as well as some ITP Mud-lites in the factory size (I already have the rears).

 nice machine man

My buddy wants to sell me his 2001 banshee its not super tricked out but the toomey T5 pipes, toomey radiator pro-flo kit,and power jets sure add some power :P he's got like 50 hours on it and said he'd sell it to me for $3500. I think it scared him  I miss my Quadracer so I think I'm gonna take it off his hands :sigh:

Nice looking quad  I have always been partial to yammis colors especially the blue. Want to hear how you like the irs after a good romp in the woods. The only question is 2.8hours and only 2miles? Quit idling it and RIDE :P

Nice choice! I had an '01 Kodiak 400cc that I put over 2000 miles on without a hitch. I know they've changed alot since then but you got a good machine. Have fun-be safe!

Oh yeah, it had 2.6 Hours on it and 0 miles when I picked it up, they left the ignition on while they were installing the winch, it wasn't running, just on... They were not the brightest bunch at the dealership... *sigh*

So I really rode 2 miles in .2 hours. :wtf:

Yea, you have to wonder if they teach that stuff in mechanics school or what. Thats the same thing they did to me when I bought my prarie 650 I trailered it home (about 70 miles from dealer) and went to show it to my buddies and it didn't start. :chevy: Had to put it on the charger before I could even ride it. Apparantly after they showed me how to run it they loaded it on the trailer and left the ignition on. So I guess some of that is my fault for not babysitting them and double checking everything they did. O well. Give us a report on how you like it so far. (that is if you stay home for any lenght of time) :uhoh:

I'm guessing they do teach that, the dealer I bought mine from was a few sandwiches shy of a picnic...

I got to ride this weekend for about an hour, and it rides great! I had to pull a tree that had fallen across a creek on our property that was probably 10" or so across at the base. With the bike in 4Low it didn't even take half throttle... I was impressed! (Although I did break my tow strap, lol) The IRS was well worth the wait too. I tried making a quick run down a washed out creek bed that was all rutted up, and it rode awesome. Really easy to control, and really smooth compared to my old bruin with the solid rear axle.

A group of us are going from work here in a month or two up to Trace State Park in Northern Mississippi (54 miles of trails). I can hardly wait! :P

It could've been worse, we got a Polaris Ranger and when the dealer delivered it, it had 2 HUGE gouges in the side of the plastic dash and multiple scrapes on the front bumper (enough to take it down to clean metal). They did repair them at their costs but it goes to show you there are all kinds out there.
