6 Speakers in a 2004 Sierra Crew Cab?

So where exactly are the 6 speakers? I know there are 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rears. What about the other 2? Or is there a seperate tweeter somewhere that they are counting?

Anybody got a suggestion for a GOOD pair of front speakers?

Not sure if my '02 would be the same, but there is 2 in the front and rear doors, also in the front doors there are small tweeters just above the regular speaker, still covered by the same grill. I had to stand about 5 feet away to see it. Maybe those make up the 6 speakers...

A "good" set of front speakers?

How much do you want to spend?

You can probably get a "good" set for under $200...But you can also get a "good" set of MB Quart for $1500. :lurk:

$300 is about the going rate for an above average set of components for the front doors. Infinity, Boston, Fosgate, Kicker, and many others make quite nice ones in that price range.

I'm quoting retail from brick and morter stores locally. You can usually find better deals online.

So in the $200 range, got any model numbers in particular?

Don't forget that if you have the Bose system, you'll have to replace the entire system if you want new speakers. If you have a non-Bose head unit, then a good set of speakers will probably sound horrible because of the bad sound coming from the stereo.

I just upgraded my front components on my 04 HD to a set of JL's in the front and a couple of 10" subs in the back, because the stock stereo sounding TERRIBLE! I retained the stock head unit but added an amp for the subs and one for the components. It actually sounds really awesome even with out an aftermarket head unit.. I was pleasantly suprised.

My biggest reason for keeping the stock deck was so the dirty theives wouldn't be as tempted to break in.

This is actually what I am going to do as well. Using a PAC controller to get me my pre-amp outputs. Bought a MTX 251D Mono amp to drive a MTX T5510-44 sub in a ProBox box behind the back seat. Got a MTX 4244 that I am going to use as a 2 channel to drive some new front JL Audio XR650-CXi. I will leave the rear speakers alone off of the head unit. Just waiting for the speakers to arrive and will install next weekend.
