Recent Upgrades

Just thought I would let you know of a couple mods i did last week. I finally broke down and got new tires. I went with the 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer S/T. Man are these some nice tires. They are a little more aggresive than the BFG ATKO's but less aggressive than Mud Terrains. They are quiet on the highway, and clean out very nice. I am keeping an eye on them for wear, as I don't have the tire pressure figured out yet. I am running them at 40 psi (unloaded) all around now, and when I tow a trailer I will bump the rears up to the max cold pressure. I put two cranks on the TB's and still need to do a little trim on the front air dam. I think I will just tape off in a vertical line from the bumper to the bottom of the air dam and trim off the extra. It only hits when I am in reverse and turned all the way, or when I am turned and hit some good bumps. I went with the Hypertech Power Programmer III, to change everything around after the tire swap. I am still messing with shift points to get them where I want.

I also added a Ravin 77 series muffler. I went with the dual in/dual out single muffler instead of swapping to a true dual. I really like the sound of the Ravin system. If you are looking at getting an exhaust system stop by midas and take a look at them. They are not very common and I got a good deal on mine as "advertising". I think it is much deeper than the Flowmaster and you don't get the resonance either. At freeway speeds (75-80) it can hardly be heard, but around town it is very noticeable. I had the pipes come out behind the rear wheels at a 45 degree angle, right to the corner of the bumper. They put on 18"x3" SS slant cut tips, that look great! I would have liked to go straight out the back but I had a couple of concerns that kept me from doing so. 1) I tow a trailer and didn't want all the noise bouncing back, 2) I keep my dog in the back with a topper on and I was afraid of the fumes getting in, and 3) I drive on some pretty bad terrain some times and was afraid that when I cross creek bottoms and stuff that the pipes would get pinched when/if the bumper bottoms out.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of doing either or both of these.

ok, i need more info on this. I was about to pull the trigger on a Pro-Flo. Can you tell me more about it? like how much $$? and do you have any pics? It would make my weekend if you had any pics...other than that, did you put an x pipe on?
