Stainless Works 8.1 headers

I have one set of 1 7/8" Stainless Works headers for the 8.1 motor available. They were going to be used on my Silverado HD until I scraped that project and decided to sell the truck. The first $500. plus shipping will take them away! The1 3/4" should be coming in soon. They are made in batches that usually ship every 4-6 weeks. Those are $689.99.

Hey Tom, Are you going to be removing any of the upgrades from the truck or burb before you sell, or are they being sold complete? I don't suppose the stainless works headers are ceramic coated? Would the 1 7/8" be a little large with a mostly stock 8.1? Hmm maybe a package deal with the Whipple (for $500 + shipping  ). Then again if I went with the new intake and heads instead (+ cam of course) I could get rid of the poorly designed oil sucking stock pieces!

I'll be selling them complete. It's to much work to de-mod them. 1 3/4" work good and 1 7/8" would be beneficial for big power mods in the future.

you seen any dyno sheets or numbers for gains from these headers on the 8.1? or any word about power gain ranges from Stainless Works?

oh, and is this set still for sale?

There hasn't been any testing with the 8.1 headers but I expect at least a 25hp gain and much more torque than shorty or mid-lengths. There has been a few inquiries but this set is still available.

I scrapped the Raylar mods that I was planning. We started going through the "next week", "next week", "next week" thing so I canceled my plans to upgrade this motor and then ordered an '05 DuraMax powered Sierra (cc,lb). That will be the new build-up for this year.

Tom,

Is there any hope for the Raylar mods?

I have talked with Raylar about there products and they seemed to be counting on you for testing. They could offer no substantial information on how well their mods work.

Can you fill us 8.1 guys in or should we give up and buy a D-Max?

It looks like they are going to have some very good products that will live up to their Big Power name. The heads, mild cam and custom tuning should be good for over 100hp. I wouldn't say everyone should give up and my a D-Max. For me there was a big tax incentive involved so that pushed me over the edge
