LQ?

Just wondering how much horsepower and torque my 2004 2500HD 4X4 6.0l has. I've heard of several different 6.0's with different horsepower and torque ratings. I beleive mine is 305 hp and 360 lbs tq. Just curious

According to the General, if you have the LQ4 Vortec 6.0 V8 you're pushing 300hp @4400rpm and 360 lb-ft @4000rpm.

If you have the LQ9 Vortec 6.0 HO V8 it's 345hp @5200rpm and 380 lb-ft @4000rpm.

I'm gonna guess and say that you have the LQ4.

No bones about it...You have the LQ4. 300HP-360 lbft torque.

But it really dosen't matter what they call it.

With all the torque management and throttle opening control it feels really underpowered. Seems like false advertizing. To get that 300 HP you need to spend another $500 for a custom tune or tuner software.

Yeah...you can tell the factory programming really keeps that motor pretty tame...never really gets up and goes until about 3500rpm....has anybody had good luck with the diablo programmer?...i've read you can take some torque management out of it

With the Diablo and SPE Proflash units as little as 15 lbft and 25 HP can be gained just be reducing Torque Management a little on 87 octane fuel.
