envoy review from owners please

the wifey has done nothing but complain since we paid off our 99 voyager. every little rattle or sqeak she is sure to tell me about. (she wants a new car obviously.)

what advice or info on the envoy you guys may have thanks. think about leasing it.

I'm satisfied with my Envoy. Go for it. If you buy used, get an '03 or newer. Not a fan of leasing here, because of the lock in of the lease if you don't like the car, but to each his (or her) own.

Mostly the same as a Tb, I went with the TB because IMO it looks better. Your choice, I love the TB. Get the sunroof and add the DVD player later. So you have the best of both worlds.

Just got my '02 Envoy in August... it was what I could afford, I don't like leases either... and just out of Mfg. Warranty, and I always wanted a GMC.

It was a local trade, not a program car, and I found it with most all of the options exc. the grill guard and the side rails, and I would like to add the grill guard when I get some extra money.

I am a large , (non-PC read "Fat") guy and the only difficulties I have are with the seat belts cutting into my neck... which they also do to my slim & trim wife... and my drivers side view mirrors won't stay in one place even after turning off the curb assist feature. The memory button seems to have no effect to fix that. I think that is a repair I will have to pay for. I assume that GM installed these car mirrors on their trucks to cut down on the drag for gas mileage purposes, but it would have been nice if the mirrors were at least as large as they are on my wife's '03 Rendezvoux.

My wife and I fight over my Envoy, largely because I have the sunroof, especially now that she bought me an XM radio to put into it. It is a terrific riding vehicle with plenty of passenger room. I could have done without the heated seats here in SC, but my wife is going to love them. If you don't need a lot of cargo space, such as is in the larger Yukon's/Suburbans, this is your vehicle. Rear cargo space can get a little limiting if you ride around with a toolbox & jumper cables like I do... a bad habit I need to break from driving Ford company cars and trucks for 22 years.

I have a 2003 Envoy XL SLT V8 and really like it. If you do decide on the extended version, I'd go with the V8 as the milage is rated the same as the 6 Cyl. Lots of room and features and very comfortable to drive.

Just bought the wife an 04 and took the first trip. Sold a Tahoe to get this one for mileage/expense etc.

Is it just me or is the drivers seat very, very hard. Not Firm, but HARD. The seat bottom and lower back.

It was uncomfortable for me and is it because I came out of a Tahoe to the Envoy?

I figured I would put the question here since it was about a review of the envoy?

Which model SLE or SLT? My '03 Envoy SLT seats may be a little more firm than our '01 Tahoe LT, but not that much difference to me. A main reason for my Envoy purchase was that the seats were more comfortable to me than the same year loaded TB LTZ.

Have a 2003 Envoy with the 4200 Vortex (I6) engine. Absolutely one of the best vehicles we have ever owned except for the seats. I agree with Toddoughty, the seats are way too firm, to the point they are uncomfortable. Everything else about the vehicle is a "10", but the seats are a fatal flaw that will result in an early trade in.

It is the SLT 2wd. It seems like it came out of no where. I dont remember it that way when we test drove and bought the thing. Maybe I am just a FB and need a bigger Tahoe seat.

I had on '03 Trailblazer LT with the custom cloth seats, and they weren't hard by any means. In fact, other than the lack of side support (either on the bottom or the back) I loved the seats. Going around turns a bit quick and you felt like you were gonna fall off though.

My parents recently tried out an '04 LT with leather, and they said the same thing a lot of you are saying- the seats were too hard. I don't know if anything changed between the '03 and '04 seats, or if it's just the difference between cloth and leather seats in the triplets though.
