Guys

Please help me. When I was in high school I owned a 72 Chev, Custom/10 SWB 4wd. This truck was bone stock. I have seen hundreds of these trucks. My brother now owns it and is restoring it. There is some "greeny" in the light duty forum that is trying to tell me that a SWB 4wd was not even made in 72! I know they were made becuase My grandfather bought this truck off of the lot. I have also seen many. I also know that they are the collecter favorite. The topic is called "favorite year". If anyone has a picture, option codes, general information would you please post it over there and shut this guy up! He must be from another planet if he is a GM fan and has never even seen this truck!

Well, sstimothy…that guy is wrong.

Took me a while to dig through my library of achieves but here it is…..

1972 Chevrolet Short bed 4wd’s produced

KS10704 – Short Bed Stepside 4wd – 1736 units produced

KS10734 – Short Bed Fleet Side 4wd – 6069 units produced

For the record, ½ ton short bed 4x4’s were around as far back as 1962 as a factory option.

I do not have data on GMC production.

Thanks, for the info, and it's NOT that I didn't Beleve YOU for the Second time

I have NEVER seen one and even to this date. and the one's I have seen they have been a frame swap from a blazer. And if they where SOOOO popular, then why don't you see more of them on the road, I have even asked around to different people and they say they have never seen one. and they too said they didn't exist,

I'm not here to battle with anybody, it seems we need to stop

And also "I said that GM didn't make a factory SWB 4x4 with a bed"

If you would read the forum, I said that GM did make a SWB 4x4 in a utility truck.

And from being from another planet HA, and being a Greeny HA, So I guess you think you have to be a GM guru to drive a "GM" well Ha Ha Ha, tell that to everybody that drives a GM and the one's that are getting their first Car/Truck that.

It sure took a long time before anybody chimed it on this fourm, so there must not be many out there like you claim.

I was wrong about this, and so is alot of people i've talked with. so get off your soap box and stop insulting people on the fourm that you don't know, I injoy this fourm because the people out there are willing to help with any question you have without insulting you, unlike some other fourms,

You have handled this very Liberal (Kerry) like,

For future refrence don't attack someone if they disagree with you.

Larry posted the numbers, and as you can see...There weren't exactly a ton of them made. Which is why (as sstimothy stated) they are a collectors favorite.

And lets take it easy on each other, and play nice please.

yep, they were indeed produced. I have seen many of them and a few for sale with a heavy price tag. It is too bad the GMC records went up in flames...but from what I remember there are approx. 4 chevys to 1 GMC produced.
