motor hesitates

I have a 1999 s-10 4.3 v6 4x4 and when i get up to speed I feel a slight hesitation in the motor every few seconds. I was told the egr was bad but, I was thinking maybe a fuel filter because it idles fine. Any ideas.

Usually if it is a bad EGR then it will throw a Check Engine Light. And if it is a bad EGR you can usually clean it out instead of dropping several hundred on a new one. I would check the fuel filter liek you said. If that doesn't fix it then think about your ignition components- even though most of the time with these it will do it under acceleration as well.
