New front speakers report in my 99 1500

Got some tips off the boards here (thanks guys!!) on some front door speakers for my 98 1500 and I went with them. I just installed the INFINITY KAPPA 62.5i 6.5 and all I can say is WOW! You guys need to get these. They sounds awesome! Really made the stock head unit sound much better! Nice and crisp. I paid 65.00 bucks for them on eBay. Just watched a few auctions and grabbed them. So now my system in my truck is this..

Stock head unit cassette with CD below in the hole

REAR SIDES: Pioneer TS-A4670R 4"X6" 3 WAY 120W SPEAKERS. Paid $45.01

FRONT DOORS: INFINITY KAPPA 62.5i 6.5 Paid $65.00

AND behind the drivers seat... Infinity Basslink Powered Subwoofer w/ remote control. Paid $180.00

So for $290.00 my truck bumps!! The sound is like night and day from the stock stuff. Amazing difference. This is with the stock head unit as well! These head units were pretty decent but I think for x mas I'm asking for new head unit to really bring these speakers to life! It was all easy to install and if your looking for some awesome sound in your truck this is one way to go for sure! People get in my truck and go holy $hit! And start looking for speaker cabs and amps but only find the basslink!

Where'd you find the basslink so cheap? ebay? Is it new? For $180 I'd definitely invest in one of those! Did the remote come with it also?

Yes! eBay! Yes 180! Yes remote! I put it in my favorites for a month or so and kept watching.. This clown had a s**tty picture, horrible description, and not so good feedback. So people stayed away from him. I love those kinda people! So I sniped it out and got it. The guy got a little shadey but I looked up his phone number thru eBay and after a few calls he knew I was'nt going away. So he shipped it. Thing was like brand new. Only used it for a month and sold the car and pulled it out. He bought a bike so had no use for it. I love it! The thing hits nice for the size and what it is. IMO it's all the bass you'll ever need in these little cabs! I went to WalMart and got an amp kit and ran nice big power wire to it and tapped off my rear speakers as it takes speaker level input and done! Good Luck.. you'll find one!

Did you keep the factory door tweeter?

Yes I kept the factory door tweeter. I like my highs! A friend of mine did the same set up in his Yukon but the stock radio would cut out after awhile. I think because of all the speakers in a Yukon (6) it could not take the draw but in the pickup it's fine.

I just ordered one from etronics.com! $224.99 + s&h. I'll probably get the install kit from Bestbuy or WallyWorld. Another Saturday project to add to the list!
