Is it just texas or every state. It seems that all the manufactures claims to be the official truck of texas and even made trucks specifically for texas also. Theres the Texas edition silveraldo, Lone star edition from dodge, texas edition for ford and heck even Toyota has a texas edition tundra.

Pretty much an advertising/marketing ploy. If it makes you feel better, then it worked. If they can get you to buy one, then you are hooked!

It's because Texas has such a big market. They all want some of the sales.

They even do that in the less populated states. Last year before I moved from CO they had an Avalanche that was an "Avalance Edition"(hockey team logos). They also had a "North Face Edition" that was exclusive to CO. I now live in Utah and GMC makes a "Utah Edition" Sierra "made for the rockies". It has its own special look and badges.

Having traveled a lot, I have seen a lot of different state editions (except Delaware). It is a marketing ploy to get people that have a lot of pride in their stated to buy vehicles. Dodge did a Panthers edition in NC during the first 1 or 2 years of the team. The only problem was that no one wanted the Dodge. Most people bought the graphics and added them to their Chevys!
