Door handle pulled out...

My brother in law called me yesterday and told me that his door handle on the driver's side of his '99 NBS Z71 completely came out when he tried to open the door. We got about half inch of ice and his door was frozen solid, but being the not so bright brother in law he didn't try to break some of the ice away first. He said all that was holding it on was a wire clip of some sort. I've been looking for part #'s, but can't see to find them. I'm assuming he needs the entire door handle and shell, anyone here ever heard of this happening or know the parts #'s? Thanks, Chris
