New Tires on my 98 C1500 2 wheel drive..

All the crap with Firestone over the years I think they learned their lession and came out with a nice afforable tire that is a nice all around tire! I've been looking for tires for almost 4 months. Looking and feeling and kicking around different sizes and tires. From talking to some people who work on our truck they all seem to say these trucks burn thru tires pretty quick even if you rotate them often. So I wanted a good all around tire that was'nt going to cost a ton. Well I went with the new Firestone Destination LE I had them for about a week now. They are 255/70-15's They look nice, they ride quiet and smooth, and they handle awesome! I have them in a wild rain storm here the other day and they were great in the rain! All I need next is to see how they are in the snow. The best part is I got them from tirerack.com and they were $318 shipped to my door! Can't beat that for 4 tires! Took them to my daily mech and he mounted and balanced them for me. I like everything about the tire so far! So if your looking for a cheap good all around tire.. this might be the one! :D:smash:tires2.jpg

I've been reading up on these myself. Reviews are good and the price is right compared to the Mich LTX M/S I was looking at. Anyone else tried these yet? I'm wondering how they are in the snow?

I decided to go with these on my 01 Sierra 2WD

and I can't say I'm impressed. After the high

scores on tire rack and other sites it sounded like

this tire was a deal. After a week, I'm seriously

considering bringing these back before the 30 day

trial period. I don't know if it's just me but these

tire feel really mushy and the truck now seems to

wander at highway speeds. I feel like I'm driving

a Lincoln Town Car or something now. Traction is great

and the tire looks good on the truck but it's like the

sidewall is excessively soft or something. I've

tried anywhere from 30 to 40 lbs. of air and it

doesn't seem to make a difference. The OEM

Generals that these replaced had a much better

feel.

I just put on the Destination M/T's and I have to say I'm very inpressed with them. I always ran BFG's before and never gave Firestones a second look, I'm glad I didn't this time.

I like the look of those Destination MT's, but they don't go big enough for me. :banghead: I've heard alot of good things about the LE's, but I'll stick to REVO's for AT/road tires. Hope they work out for you, for the $$ good choice. Chris

I like the BFG Radial TA's! I bought the truck with them and on and put another set when those needed to be replaced. Now I am in need of tires again and I am looking at them once again. For a set of 50k tires, I have gotten 70k out of my current set, and 65k out of the last set. Great traction, great ride, and I like the footprint they give my truck, the only question is do I keep the wide set I have or go even wider?
