Plastic fender flares

Hello everyone, Im new to the site and just want to say that I like it alot. Theres a lot of great info on here.

Now onto my question....I just bought a new 04 CC 2500LD 4x4 SLT in black and the plastic flares are not painted. Has anyone had these painted? I would like them to match instead of being raw plastic.

If yours are the texured finish then they are a pain to paint.(the textured finish has to be sanded off to make it smooth) it is easier to get a set of painted ones and repaint them your color.

There is a seller on ebay selling painted take-off's for I think $160 a set, has always has some on there. just search for silverado flares and they will show up.

I have been wanting to do this myself also, I just waiting for spring befor I do it.

BTW BB, what size tires did you put on your rig? Looks good.

Cool, Im not sure if those would fit on my truck, cause its not the HD so its lower in the front by an inch or two. Thats another topic though LOL. Thanks....

If you want to paint them, any good body shop should be ab.e to help you. Make sure they are using plastic prep before they paint though!

The stock textured ones can be painted w/ out sanding them smooth...my buddy had his done last year. They came out great..you have to be right up on them to even see the little bit of texture, but they're shiny, so the light hides it well. He had his bumper cap done, too...came out great. Not saying the other ideas aren't good, just letting you know it's possible.

the 285/75/R16 tires will fit a standard 2500, the dealer threw this wheel and tire combo (same size) on my truck when I took delivery...I promply asked them to remove them (did not want to pay $2000 for them)
