can someone tell me what the difference in the look is when you have a 265 75 16 on your truck and a 285 75 16 on your truck. does the 285 have a much meatier look, ect... does it give the truck a more aggresive stance than the 265. also, any problems with swithcing from 265 to 285 that i should be worried about. any help will be appreciated. thanx :D

The tread is wider on a 285 and the overall tire diameter is taller.

Your speedo will be wrong (this can be corrected) and if you have aftermarket wheels you may have clearance issues.

And yes it does make the truck look more aggressive.

I don't know how to upload pics in a post, but I have pics of my Sierra with 265's and 285's. If you can tell me how to upload them on this post, i will. Otherwise, if you want to try the email button and send me an email address I can send them to you. Don't worry, I won't spam you.

Here's mine with the 285's and factory wheels...no problems at all. Actually, me speedo got more accurate after the swap. (drove down the highway behind my wife's car w/ cell phones comparing speeds)

With my 4.10's and the 285's, my speedo is about 1 to 3 mph faster than the GPS. The only other problem I have is when I back up and turn simultaneously, the drivers side tire rubs the washer resevoir. I trimmed a little back from the black plastic inner wheelwells there so the resevoir is exposed. Also, my truck is a 2wd with a 3" lift. when I had my 265's on, it sat identical to a Z-71 with 265's.

Because of the 285's, I am going to lift the truck another 2" so there is no rubbing and personally, I think it will look better.
