SS Crew Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Somebody on the Hotboat.net forums had some info on the Squires Turbo System. It seems the turbo mounts at the back of the truck before the muffler, then sends the pressurized air back up to the front of the truck. The part that I don't like is that the air filter is under the vehicle. What happens when it rains? Other than the filter deal, it seems like a pretty good idea. Anybody out there in GM-Truck.com land have any experience with this product? http://www.ststurbo.com/home
unkleJ Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Go to the truck section on www.ls1tech.com... There are a few guys there who have some experience with the STS kit. Jeff
badpewterz Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 my buddy sells them and installs them at his shop . if i had more money id have one on my truck by now but probbly not till next year or so. the airfilter comes with a sock for rain and stuff so it really isnt that bad unless you go into deep mudholes or puddle jumping , just like any other open element air filter. even a simple kit at 5-6lbs would rip and unlike most would think there really isnt any lag becuase of the rear mount . plus you can upgrade to bigger turbos, front mount intercoolers, alky injection and make tons of power . like said before check ls1tech.com for more reviews/experinces
tbyrne Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 These systems have been very popular for the trucks and I will be installing one on my 2004 GTO next week (looking for 500rwhp ). Going with the base system and a custom programing will make a very noticeable difference in performance. Customers have also been reporting mileage increases which is a good thing for trucks!
