PCM programing

i am trynna find software to reprogram the PCM in my 99 Tahoe.. i cant stand the fact that the speed limit is set at like 99 or 100mph... does anybody know what would be the best program to use??

You specified software so I would have to recomend hptuners.com. It will do any type of tuning and is overkill for just changing the speed limiter.

None of the handhelds can match software for tuning but any of the handhelds can change speed limiters and are easyer and cheaper to use.

Wester's Garage also makes custom cpu's. I've had mine for a year and love it !! Can't say enough good things about. Worth twice the price !!!!!!

Like the other options - maybe overkill for just the speed limiter, but the Hypertech will do that as well as some other tuning, including correcting the speedo for oversize tires. I wasn't that impressed with the tuning changes it made.

Sorry didn't pick up on it being OBS.

How about LS1 edit than?? I think that is what Westers was using on the OBS trucks.

i was thinking about LS1 edit. but i dont know whats the compatability. but i am looking to further tune the truck a bit later so thas y i wanted something simular to my Lt1 edit software. so if LS1 edit will work on a 99 Tahoe LS 4x4 with a 350Vortech in it then i will use it...

LS1 edit is only for the GEN III engines (LS1, LS6, 5.3L, 4.8L, 6.0L). Hence the name "LS1" edit.

so is my motor a Gen 2 5.7 or something and does that mean its still kinda based on the LT1, and if so would Tuner cat work??

according to carputing the LS1 edit is compatable with the 97-05 chevy cars and trucks and the L31 is included in the list but i sent them an email to find out...

well it is confirmed.. i should have gotten a different tahoe cause it seems nothing is out there for my truck.. they said the 99 isnt support by thier software, tunercat dosent support it, and nobody else that i have checked out.... i guess DFI is my only choice
