8.1L Temp Question

My 8.1L runs at about 200 degrees in 15-25 degree weather. Is this normal. I am not towing or running it hard.

Mine runs around 190, modern engines run hot.

mine runs around 200 at any outside temp.

I believe they have a 195 degree thermostat in them, so that would be normal

Very good, glad to hear it. Mine may be about 190-200....can't really tell with the tiny graduation marks on the gauge.

My 05 runs 210F on the gauge ALL the time once warmed up, even with outside temps in the teens or lower.

That's about where mine runs. Amazing how much more heat the 8.1 puts out vs. wife's 5.3 Burban (just sitting in garage after driving...walk by Burban and can't feel a thing...walk by truck and "wow, engine still warm")
