What year did GM change the badging from 1500HD to 2500? I'm pretty sure it was '04.

I think you're right. IIRC the 1500HD is back for 05'.

yep 04 was 2500 and 05 is 1500HD

Thanks guys. I had no idea about '05 going back to 1500HD. I wish they would stop screwing around with the names. It is confusing enough for people, let alone changing the badging year to year.

Who is head of marketing the series designations? Make up your minds. And now, I think there is an actual Z71 trim level for the half tons. It comes as an LS with the Z71 package. That is just stupid. To get an LT, you have to add the Z71 package. I am just confused with this.
