VIN Decoder for 2000 Trucks

Just finished getting the VIN Decoder info up on my site.  Right now it's just for 2000 GM trucks, next I'll add the 2001 and 1999.  Eventually I'll set it up where you can enter your vin and it will spit out the info for you, but for now this is what you get.  Special thanks to GMProductInfoCenter for the VIN Decoder book.

My site, then click on VIN Decoder

If you want the VIN decoded for any 79 and up gm car or truck just email me and I'd be glad to decode it for you.

C'mon, I hope someone finds this usefull, it took me about 3 hours to get all of that info on there.  I just wish I knew how to set it up in html so you can enter you VIN and have it give you the info.

I think it is, since mine is 034 and I have 3.73 gears.  This first one was the hardest, so I figure the 99 and 01 should be easily done w/ just some slight modification.

The last three numbers are just part of the sequence number in which your truck was build.  I can't remember off hand how many numbers they use for that.

Hey thanks for the research and work.  Been trying to find where my rig was being built.  GM customer service wouldn't tell me.  The decoder seems to work on 02's, according to the decoder my truck (which has apparently been shipped this week   ) was built in Oshawa Canada.  Don't know if that's good or bad  ???  but my Made in America truck is Made in Canada,,,EH?

That's okay, my truck was made in canada too.  But, that's probably I'm guessing that's probably where most of them in the WI area are made, just easier to ship them from there.

Does anyone know what the "(T&B)" means, that's how it was on the vin decoder and I'd like to know what it means.

Tom, that's why I've got the VIN Decoder, it will tell you those important things.

Yeah, I know that.  I did one on my truck a while back.  I was meaning I don't remember how many of the last few digits are used for the sequense number, for example the last 5 digits, the last 6, etc.

Somewhere in the box that I keep all my truck related receipts, warranty repairs, etc., I have a copy that breaks all the VIN stuff down on my truck.

I do remember that it was built in Pontiac, MI.

It's the 12th thru 17th digits that gives you the production sequence number.
