Driving a BIG truck today

Rented a 24' box truck with a lift gate to move my tools and stuff from my mother's garage to my father-in-laws garage...mom's closing on the sale of her house 3/31/05, gotta get my stuff out. I really only needed a 15' truck, but Budget only had 24 footers with the lift gate. Wanted the lift gate to make moving my tool box easy...

 

 

The truck's kinda cool though since it's so big...but man is it slow. They must have it governed to keep the speed and accel down, I can't even get this thing up to 60! The wife's having alot of fun playing around with the lift gate too. We're all loaded up and about to head to the in-laws right now (she's actually yelling to me from the other room to get my arse in gear...gotta go! )

I'm awaitng a move myself. I want to rent one of the bigger trucks just to drive one. Whether I need it or not.

 

What chasis was it?

I won't move without a liftgate. My box is a bit bigger than that, and one of my benches requires 6 strapping lads just to move it across the floor.

 

Of course...I hope to not have to move again for a looooong time.

General Lee 01, it was an International...I noticed that they also had some GMC's.

 

99Silver5.3, thanks man...I don't remember what model it is...KRsomething or other . Paid it off about 5 years ago (the day I made my last payment my SnapOn guy tried to talk me into a black $10,000 Earnhardt box...I almost went for it)

 

Wingnut, sounds like you have quite a setup...I'd like to see some pics of that bench if you ever get the opportunity!

It's a homebuilt...and it would probably hold my truck if I could figure out a way to get it up there.

 

I have the biggest vise I could buy, and a 50 lb plate of steel in it for beating on crap.

 

I'll snap a pic or two when I get a chance (if I remember )
