changing the gear ratio

hi this my fist time and i have alot of Qs please help i want to order but no one did help me finding out the parts

 

i have a silverado 2500HD 2002 6.0

my rear diff is 4.10

 

i want to put 5.13 becouse i want to put a 38/15.5/16 tires thats will keep my stock ratio

i just want to make sure my rear end is 14 bolt 10.5in is that right

and the front 9.2IFS is that correct ?

ok and do i have to change both the gear front and rear with the same ratio

 

thats mean 5.13 front and rear ?

 

please help

Welcome to the site. First I believe that you are correct that the rear is the 14 bolt. As for changing the front and rear, yes you will have to otherwise if you put it in 4x4, you will seriously damage some stuff. Sorry and can't help with your other questions. I know someone on here will be able to help you out.

im sure about the rear end thats is 14bolt 10.5in becouse i did dow a pic of it in the internet but the front its difcult becouse i can hardly see it under my truck i searched some sites in the internet i figer out that i have 9.2IFS but i need some confirmation becouse im an international user and i will ship them internationally so i wont apple to returen it back if the parts are wrong

The rear end in your truck is a 14 bolt FF with a 10.5" ring gear and your front is a 9.25" IFS. You will have to change both the Ring and Pinion in the front and the rear..I hope this helps

Yea it is a 10.50".

 

 

You may have trouble finding 4.56's much less 5.13's.

Vhato, you've done several gear swaps, where would you be able to find 4.56's for these axles?

Patience is the key...ESPECIALLY with the 11.50" Ratios. I order from Randy's Ring and Pinion. http://www.ring-pinion.com.

 

Since they are rare most distributors won't stock them and most manufacturers won't grind/cast them except when asked and they group the orders together. So it could take a week or 6 months. You just never know.
