3/4 ton Gauge Cluster

After having the 3/4 to cluster for 3 weeks now I have to say that I am glad that I did it. The new cluster looks so much better having that blank spot filled. I still don't understand why GM does not put them in half ton trucks to begin with.

Did your transmission temp guage start working immediately? I have been thinking about making this modification and was wondering about that.

First welcome to the forum. To answer your question yes it did. According to the tranny mech I talked to all GM autos have a temp sensor that feeds information to the computer. Enjoy the forum.

Why didn't you go ahead and get the Escalade Cluster?

I like the looks of the 1/2 and 3/4 tons better than the Escalade myself. If I remember correctly, the Denali cluster is basically like the 1/2 and 3/4 tons except for the higher speedometer. Is that correct? I like that one as well, if it's what I'm thinking of.

Actually the Denali Cluster is a little different color that matches the Denali Bezel. See http://members.home.com/jlo67/00gmc/clusters.htm for some pics.

The higher speedometer will not matter... It will still cut out around 98 or something, correct?

It will cut out, but I'm not sure exactly what speed. The one time I had mine up that far it seemed like it was around 95 MPH or so. A hypertech power programmer III will let you raise it up some, but I also don't know to what MPH. I'm sure some of the other members here that have the HPP III can answer that one.

I don't know if the Denali itself is limited to the same speed as the tucks with the stock program though.

To answer your question, I am trying to pic good mods but retain as much of the clean stock look as I can. My goal for this mod was just to get the tranny temp gauge and keep a stock look.
