Spare tire

[2000 GMC]

I tried to lower my spare but couldn't get the handle to turn the crank.  I have the type of spare where you remove the lock and insert the jack handle in.  I couldn't get the handle to line up, any advice on the easiest way to get the handle to line up with the crank?  Glad I was just messing with it and didn't actually need it.

I'm sure you checked this, but make sure the extension rod is connecting with the crank for the lowering assembly.  If it is, then you may need to have TSB #00-03-10-008 .

had the same problem w/ mine, the dealer installed the spare tire cross brace and it works like it should now.
