6.0 4L80E swap to 8.1 Allison

I have an '01 2500HD with 6.0 4L80E with 103,000 miles, tranny's slipping in dire need of replacement, the engine is been used and abused. Instead of putting in a rebuilt 4L80E and adding tuner mods(MAS Air, Intake, Throttle Body, Power Programmer) I figured maybe we will spend that tax return money wisely and put some serious muscle under the hood, a swap to the 8.1 with the Allison bolted up. Has any one attempted this, and do I need to change the whole set-up, i.e. wiring harness, computer, fuel pump, transfer case adapters. And if it is possible, where is a good place for those drivetrain parts. I know it's alot to ask on my first posting, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would be best off to keep the 4L80E. Have built to holds some power it will do fine. You can use the 6.0 ECU and wiring harness for a 8.1. Use a Ls1edit or HPTuner to get it dialed in.

I think I will stay with the current 4l80E, TCI said they would build a beefy towing monster for about $3500 if anyone's interested.
