How do dealers flush the fluid?

We don't, in most cases. A power steering flush is not a service that GM recommends or requires.

I have seen flushes sold by dealers. The devices that do it vary, but the one I saw by Wynn's just has two hose that go into the reservoir. One pumps the new stuff in while the other sucks it out. How that would do a complete flush of the old fluid is beyond me.

Thanks. I think they are just trying for some extra $$$. They said it looked "dirty" I always check it and it looks normal to me. I never flushed the fluid in all the other vehicles I had so I was suspect.

personally i take my big turkey baster thing and suck as much of the fluid out of the resivor as i can and then refill.i attach a small hose to it so i can get more out of the bottom.

dont need no stink dealer "flush machine".ofcourse hell would freeze over before i took anything to the dealer to be fixed.
