Best bed cover?

I'm looking for a bed cover for my 1500 ext cab. I occasionaly haul things in the back that are too tall to fit under the cover though. What's a good bed cover that would be easy enough to remove that I could take it off if I needed to put something big in the back? I'd like a hard cover too, I don't like the soft covers.

Mine is in my sig. Very nice, VERY strong, one person can remove it, and it removes very easy. If you don't have a tailgate lock, it provides one since it overlaps the tailgate. Dang near water tite. I would recommend it. Got mine delivered from 4wheelonline.com for $564.99 but I think their prices have gone up, but email them and get their best price.

Might take a look at Fold-A-Cover (www.foldacover.com). I've used one to total satisfaction for two years. No leaks, looks great, locks at both ends and is very versatile. We hunt big game a lot and our Fold-A-Cover gets a lot of very hard use in the snow and all kinds of heavy weather.

When we replace our Chevy with a new Chevy :seeya: the first accessory I will add will absolutely be another fold-A-Cover.

I like the low profile Truxedo. It's a soft cover that rolls up completely with the bows. The only trouble with the fold-a-cover is that about 1/3 of the bed is always covered. I'm also not crazy about the looks of the fold-a-cover.

If you're sure you want a hard cover, I'd take a look at The Undercover. I'm hoping to put a cover on my truck sometime in the future, but can't use this one because I have bed rails mounted in the stake pockets. Anyway this one has a nice look and I've read nothing but good things about it on this as well as other truck boards. Extremely lightweight and that's what I liked about it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have a Retrax on mine. It is lockable in any position.

I've had the Fold-a-cover on for about 5 months now. It's great. Stood up to a few feet of Chicago snow, no problems and it's lockable.

Fold-A-Cover. 3years and 6 months on this truck. No problems love it. BTW I ran one on my 1999 Silverado and no problems for 6 years. Keep the locks lubed.

Add me to the list of Fold-A-Cover converts :happysad: My '05 is a standard cab shortbed. The locking cover makes the bed one big trunk that you can open from either end.

Those members using the Undercover any issues?

I'm thinking of buying one and found a deal (best I could find) for $605.00 shipped for my crew cab

2 questions to add to this post.

1) Does anyone use the sliding hardtops like I believe Pace Edwards makes? If so, do you like it? Drawbacks? (I Guess its more than 2 questions).

2) Anyone running any kind of cover, are you able to put a "racerback" on as well without affecting the operation of the cover? I know some probably wont allow for the use of a racerback, but others appear in pictures to have enough clearance.

Have a Great 4th All!!
