Another strange noise...

I changed the fuel filter recently and while I was under the truck with it running, I heard a noise like a lifter tick except it sounded like it was coming from inside the catalytic converters. Is this normal?

Not normal, probably an exhaust leak.

Sounds to me like the ceramic (SP) guts of the converter may have cracked and broke up. they will rattel like that and sound like a ticking. A cat converter should have 8 yr 80,000 mile Fed. emmission warranty.
