Cool Ryan.

Is the mirror cover thin and easy to bend/crease?

I'm finally painting mine tomorrow. They have been in primer for 2 weeks, lol.

Got the primer on.

Now 30 min till it dries WOOHOO i think its gonna work

They are not that thin.  They do not bend or crease easily it would take a little force to do that.

I have some pre-finish pics waiting to be loaded in (low quality) tomorrow i might have my gfs mom snap a few if i get it done by then (by the looks of it it may be done tonight)

:)

Fumes are getting to me and i am wearing a mask.  I think i am higher than a kite right now haha J/K

Ryan I am glad you decided to do this. I know you have been thinking about this for a while, I remember when you said you talked to a body shop and they said don't do it. I can see by your pictures that you are doing a great job. You are absolutely going to love it. I am glad you decided to pop the cover off instead of trying to paint it on the mirror. I love mine painted, I get alot of looks from other gm truck guys. Keep us posted. BTW your site wouldn't let me enlarge the photos?

Ryan that looks badbutt, you did a great job. Now tomorrow you can take off the grille and do it the same way.

Taking off the chrome piece is easy, I don't know how he did it , but when I painted mine I used a butter knife from the kitchen and slowly worked it around the edge to seperate the double sided tape. Then using the same knife, pry up at different spots around the outside while working the knife inwards. The cover is thick so you won't bend it. There are four molded clips on the cover that attach it. All in all it was very easy. I had never done this before so I was surprised just how easy it was too take off and re-install. Here is a picture of mine with the painted grille and mirrors that I did myself.

It looks like a good job, I just think you should have went with black like Y2KZ71 did. The mirrors are too small to break into two different colors ???

Quadcab you sound like my mom.  2 min ago she said they should be all black.  I like the blue though

Like y2K said use a butter knife.  There are 4 clips ill post a pic later where they are located actually.

Use the butter knife in a sawing motion going up and down.  Its saw through the tape.  Take your time.  First one took 10 min to come off and second one which i just took off took less than 5 cause i knew what i was doing
