I've finally found (and bought) my truck...

I just stumbled across this forum and after reading dozens of topics, it looks like I've found my new favorite forum!

As the title says, I've recently bought a truck I've wanted for years. After driving my '97 Blazer for 7 years and 150K miles, I decided it was time for an upgrade and started looking for a Tahoe. Why I've always had a craving for them is obvious when seeing and driving them, IMHO. After relatively little looking around, I finally found it and am now the elated owner of a 2001 Z71 Tahoe. 35K highway miles, Yakima rack with front and rear Hella Lights, full audio and video upgrades and additions, numerous performance upgrades, extremely well taken care of and dealer maintained and all this for only $21K. Pays to find rich owners who could care less about the money!!!

So, all that to say...being new to the Tahoe world and this forum, I would greatly appreciate hearing any tips, comments, questions, or concerns about anything!! Must have upgrades, problems to watch out for etc.

Thanks for any feedback and I hope to be a long time member here.

I'll try to find someway to get a picture out on the web somewhere that I can attach here ASAP.

 Brad

Hi Brad, welcome. Sounds like a sic Z71. I have no problems to report from mine - other than a noisey windshield. Easily fixed, though

Hey there Tahoe4Life and Welcome!

I just traded my 2002 Tahoe Z71 in (it had 131000) the ONLY issue I had and it is inherent for not just Tahoes but many other GM vehices is the Piston Slap. Engine is cold, ya start it up and it sounds like it is low onn oil.

Kinda of un-nerving. But never had an issue because of it and again it had 131000 miles.

Enjoy!!!!!
