Transgo Shift Kit

Has anyone experienced any detrimenal issues to their tranny after installing the Transgo HD-2-C series shift kit while using the Tow/Haul mode? I'm looking to install one but won't if issues are to be had while towing a 5K 26' TT. Thanks.

I stopped using tow/haul since the Transgo. In fact, I just had my trans rebuilt (at 140K) with a corvette servo and Transgo HD2 kit w/ 1 washer (other extras too but not relevant). I found that after the rebuild, if I use tow/haul it makes the 1-2 shift VERY harsh especially with a trailer. I believe tow/haul boosts line pressure which is not necessary with the shift kit IMO. After turning off tow/haul, it shifts great with a trailer. I still tow in 3 to avaoid heating things up but it pulls 5Klbs no problem.

 

IMO, the shift kit does more to improve the reliability of the trans than using tow/haul. My trans runs about 10 degrees cooler when towing AFTER the shift kit. I think the less time the shift takes, the less heat builds up. Now, if you go hammering the accellerator all the time, it won't help reliability but all else equal, I believe a shift kit is better for the trans.

But if you just rebiult it and add the shift kit at same time, what is to say where the temp drop realy came from?
