MPG decrease

I went from 14.5 mpg to 11 mpg within 1 month. i have a 98 2500 350vortec manual trans. i changed the fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve and ran injector cleaner for 2 fillups. I have not done a tune up but I did check the plugs and they look fime. I have also notices a loss of torque at low end. I used to be able to chirp the tires from a slow roll now it seems to "gag" until it hits 1800 rpm. Any one have some suggestions.

O2's KILL your mileage when they go bad, and I've seen them go bad-enough to kill mileage but not set-off the cel.

 

Might be something to look at...

I replace a lot of leaking fuel pressure regulators on those engines.

Did you check the plugs before or after this power loss occured? You might have broken a plug wire while removing it.
