I just added new BFG's and rims. I need to add flares since tire stick out a little more than the stock Firestones. Looking for any comments on aftermarket flares.I would like to know about painting (would like to match pewter color) and installing. Thanks for the help.

I have Bushwacker Street Flares on mine. I only have the stock 265's for now, but plan on getting 285's when I replace them, probably in the spring. They only stick out about 1/2 - 1 inch from the body. I've been very happy with them and they were very easy to install. Mine are not painted, but here is what the Bushwacker site says about painting them.

 

Can you paint Bushwacker fender flares?

 

The Bushwacker product comes in basic black but can be easily painted any color you want! Sanding and priming are optional. Our suggestion is that you clean the product with a high grade degreaser, wipe with a tack rag and then spray with lacquer, enamel or polyurethane base automotive paint. Clear coating is optional, but recommended after painting.

I have a set of GM flares.  While my truck was in the shop getting some body repairs I had the shop order them and put them on for me.  I left them black-the body guy said he had painted them before but had bad luck with the paint chipping off easily from gravel etc and I think they look good with my green truck.  

 

GM's accesories cost more but I've been happy with all their stuff I've bought.

I've got bushwacker flares as well, but mine are the bigger ones.  Right now I have them the standard black, but this summer I'm thinking about taking them off and painthing them red to match.  You can see some pics of them on my site.
