04 lighting ??

I have a 04 Silverado and have a question about the DRL and parking lights, on my 02 Silvy when you turn the parking lights on the DRL's stayed on, but my 04 they go off. I saw a 03+ truck this morning with the park/DRL/Fog on at the same time, did they change it in 04.

 

Also is there a way you can you change settings in the computer? you can change preformance settings, it seems there might be some techy's out there that has found a way we can do this. all the switches on our trucks do is sends a signal (low voltage or ground) to the comp and the comp turns it on or off.

 

Hand held unit would be great, The GM techs have one that they program every thing else. Is there a aftermarket unit out there we ca use?

if you just turn on the fogs (leave the light switch alone), the parking lights automatically come on and the drl's stay on also. that is how it works on my 04 burb. as far as i know, you can't just turn on the parking lights and have the drl's stay on.

I believe in day time I can turn on the park lamps and have the DRL's stay on, but now I will have to double check. I know with the fog lights on only the ambers and the DRLs are on in addition to the fog lamps.

I checked and that is the only way they will come on, and also the DRL's will only come on when you put it in gear, and will stay on even when the e-brake is applyed, Is there a way to change these settings by way of a programmer or something.

 

Its only a computer controled system. This would be a Gold mine of a idea, maybe the guy's at westers can look into this.
