XM Radio Antenna

I have a 2003 Silverado 2 Dr LS Standard Cab SB that was purchased 12/2002. I bought my wife a 2003 Tahoe 8/2003. The Tahoa XM radio antenna is small and sexy and mine looks like some sort of tumor growing on top of my cab. Can I replace my antenna for one like her's?

That XM antenna doesn't look like a factory GM antenna even for an 03, and the position is not right. It is close but still not right. It may have been a dealer add-on.

 

This is a foctory XM antenna for the 03-04 models.

Invoice says it is from the factory. The picture you have doesn't look like the my pickup nor like my wife's Tahoe. Looks like GM had 3 types for 2003?

They may have, I know I've seen many like mine and I've seen some that looked smaller. I think the 05's are even smaller yet. I don't know though if we can swap them for the smaller ones, the mounting hole or holes may be different.

No,We're not too stumped!

There are three different XM antennas,the one you have on your truck (that looks like a tumor!) is the first design on early build '03s,then they went to one that was smaller and has a little fin on it for mid-year '03s,then they went to the one they use now (The one that BB had in the picture) in '04.

I think I remember seeing a bulletin here at the dealership on the antennas not being interchangable.
