Hello,

I have done a couple of searches on the forum but can not seem to find the correct number for the daytime running light bulbs. Its for a 2000 GMC Sierra.

I know members have done theres in amber. Not sure if I want to go the Amber route but part numbers for the ambers and the clears would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

AMBER DRLs for the mid-2000 trucks is a 3157 / 4157 NALL "NALL" means amber glass, long life. These will last for years. Others with a 2000 or so truck might need to jump in to confirm if this particular amber bulb is compatible. You can find these at Auto-Zone. Be sure to pick up some bulb grease. The grease helps keep moisture off the contacts, ensures a good electrical contact.

I'd suggest also to go to the SEARCH on the board here using "amber drl". There's been pages upon pages of discussions on this. Typically, the discussions will head off toward fog lamps, driving lamps, and using Silverstar bulbs, but if you want to go high-quality cheap, the amber lamps with a long life rating and real-glass amber is difficult to beat.

The bulbs are 3157. You can use 3157A (amber painted glass) or 3157NA(glass died amber color) the LL (long life) bulbs are better and a little more expensive but at 2.50-3.00 bucks a pop who cares. I have the 3157NALL in my truck and I love them! By the way the 3157 is a dual filament bulb and when in our truck runs on the "high" beam filament so it is brighter, with the clear bulbs they looked like headlights haha.
